ABSTRACT:

In this study, Laser-induced Si plasma generated at different laser energies has been characterized using visible emission spectroscopy. A Nd:YAG laser is used to generate plasma from a  Si target. The plasma electron temperature is inferred by the Boltzmann plot method from singly ionized Si emission lines, and plasma electron density is inferred using Stark broadened profiles

The plasma was produced via the interaction of high peak power Nd:YAG laser at the fundamental wavelength of 1064 nm with a materials target. The Si emission lines  utilized to evaluate the plasma parameters such as electron temperature (Te), electron density (ne), Debye length (λD), number of particles in Debye sphere (ND) and plasma frequencyp)were determined.
